Hub Residential, set up by the founders of Squarestone, has recruited Mount Anvil’s development director to lead the roll-out of homes in London.
Steve Sanham has joined Hub as development director from Mount Anvil. He previously worked at Argent, where he delivered the first mixed-tenure affordable housing scheme at Kings Cross.
Prior to that he worked at Urban Splash, where he delivered multi-award winning schemes including Chimney Pot Park in Salford.
Sanham’s remit will involve developing HUB’s creative vision, canvassing ideas from architects and working with other partners to build homes more in tune with consumers.
Hub recently unveiled its first two schemes at Royal Victoria Docks and North Acton, which will have a combined gross development value of £200m.
Hub partner Robert Sloss said: “We’re motivated by Boris Johnson’s aim of bringing to market more homes designed and priced for the mid-market – London workers.
“Steve has a superb track record in innovative, design-led schemes with a strong sense of community. We think there’s a real niche here and are very excited to have him on board.”
Sanham added: “Most would agree that the last people to benefit from the housing market revival are actual working Londoners and I genuinely think that, through a direct, consumer-driven approach to design and development, we can create communities that reflect both the aspirations and price-points of workers.”
