We stole a minute of time with our very own Development Director, to pick his brains about The Boiler House and what he loves most about Hayes.
Hi, and you are?
Hey, I'm Damien Sharkey, Development Director at HUB.
How are you involved at The Boiler House?
I’ve been involved in everything – from appointing an excellent design team, sketching apartment layouts with the architects, appointing our great contractor, trips to Austria to view the Cross Laminated Timber frame and working closely with the design team selecting doors, ironmongery, tiles, kitchens, flooring etc. It really has been a hands on role…
What do you love most about The Boiler House?
In my opinion, this is the most exciting building at The Old Vinyl Factory. It really is the jewel in the crown. The shiny stainless-steel cladding contrasting against the bright orange staircase ensures The Boiler House stands out from the other buildings on the estate.
The layout and specification of the homes are also excellent. I hope the new owners feel the same way!
What excites you most about The Old Vinyl Factory?
The Boiler House of course!
Having witnessed this regeneration project come to life over the past three years, it really is going to be an exciting place to live, work and socialise, with a very easy commute to Central London once the Elizabeth line opens.
You have spent quite a bit of time in Hayes, what do you love most about it?
Barra Hall Park is great, there’s an open-air venue which puts on loads of amazing music, theatre and dance performances.
Where’s your favourite place to eat out in and around Hayes?
The Pheasant Inn and Restaurant in Harlington is a fantastic gastro pub, with great food and a lovely outdoor seating area – would definitely recommend!
Tell us something about Hillingdon that not many people know.
Hillingdon has a lido which boasts one of London’s few beaches.
