Involved in Croydon, so involving CroydonFri 16 Dec 2016
We strive to deliver thoughtful, people-focused developments in the capital. The only way to do that is to ensure local residents and communities have a voice. And that is exactly what we’re doing in Croydon.
In August, we reached an agreement with Croydon Council to re-develop their former headquarters site at Taberner House.
This unique site, adjacent to the well-loved and historic Queen’s Gardens, will consist of four buildings, providing approximately 500 new apartments and is our fifth major collaboration with social impact investor Bridges Ventures.
We are working with Kaizen Partnership, experts in community engagement, who specialise in providing local communities with a voice. They are our eyes and our ears on the ground, helping us truly understand what the people of Croydon need for their local community.
The collaborative design process will ensure the new and improved Queen’s Gardens provides a beautiful and, most importantly, useful recreational space for people who live and work in the area.
So far, Kaizen has interviewed 800 residents, with 200 interviews to follow. An exhibition is planned for 19 January 2017 where members of the local community have been invited to come along and meet us, view the plans and have their say.
